The other day, I was noodling around the internet, minding my own business, when a flashing screen popped up. "WARNING," it shrieked, in caps, which is my most favorite. "Your computer may be infected. Click yes to scan now."

Were it not for my extreme distrust of pop-ups, I'm embarrassed to say I might've believed it. At least I can console myself that this scam is pretty common, and takes in a lot of folks.
