| | From Chad Bowar, your About Music Editor Summer means more time for fun and leisure, and hopefully more time to listen to your favorite music. It's also a great time to seek out new music, and you've come to the right place as our music guides have plenty of suggestions. | | New R&B Albums: July 2011 This month has some well-known names putting out new music, with the biggest of those names being Brian McKnight, who drops a CD/DVD combo this month that includes a disc of all-new songs, plus a concert disc. Also on the list is Kelly Rowland, who's new project, Here I Am, features the hottest song she's had in years, "Motivation," featuring Lil Wayne. | Best New Bands Of 2011 "New" is obviously a subjective --if not loaded-- term, especially in a year in which The Guardian's New Band of the Day column featured Destroyer, nine albums and 15 years' worth of "new." They range from Lady Gaga to Lil Wayne to Adele. | 40 Watt Sun - The Inside Room Review The debut album by 40 Watt Sun, The Inside Room, is extraordinary. In a year already rich in excellent releases, The Inside Room shines much brighter than a 40-watt bulb. With all the emotiveness needed to cut a listener to the quick, and none of the drag that often mires the subgenre in muck, this album is nothing short of a doom metal triumph. | | | | Music Ads | | | | Featured Articles | | | | More from About.com | | | | | | Career Quizzes Not sure what you want to do when you grow up?
