From Angela Bradley, your About Programming Editor
Hello Programmers!

This week we are looking at the SECTION element in web design. We also look at Microsoft's enterprise library, and a JDK7 release candidate. Finally we take a look at how to get the next node in JavaScript.

Have a great week!

Understanding the SECTION Element
When you use the new HTML5 SECTION element, you are defining the content as being a "section" of the page. This is different from the ARTICLE or DIV. Learn more about the SECTION element and how to use it correctly to define semantic sections of your content.

Microsoft's Enterprise Library
If you haven't started taking advantage of the Enterprise Library, your first reaction might be, "Where have you been all my life?" After all, we're up to version 5.0 and it shows all the signs of being a mature and reliable part of your software toolkit.

Get Next Node
JavaScript isn't just limited to searching the entire web page for a specific node or nodelist. Once you actually have a node you can navigate from there to the nodes around it such as the one immediately following it at the same level.

JDK 7 Release Candidate Released
The Release Candidate (build b147) of JDK 7 has been released and available to download. If all goes according to plan and no show-stoppers appear, it should make the general availability milestone on the 28th July, 2011.
